Job knowledge test
Software troubleshooting test
Diagnostic reasoning on common desktop and account problems, without requiring knowledge of any one product.
- Time to complete
- About 20 minutes
- Test family
- Job knowledge
- Included in
- All plans
What a candidate actually does
- A user cannot sign in on a new laptop but can on their phone. Say what you check and in what order
- Read a short error log and name the most likely cause
How it is scored
Scored on the diagnostic path taken, not only the final answer, so a candidate who narrows the cause sensibly still scores when they stop short.
Roles it suits
- IT helpdesk
- Technical support
- Field service technician
What it will not tell you
Deliberately product neutral, so it will not tell you whether someone knows your specific stack.
Every test has a boundary like this. A test used outside it stops predicting anything, which is the usual reason a hiring team loses faith in testing altogether.
