Practical test
Attention to detail test
Ability to spot discrepancies between documents and to follow multi step written instructions exactly.
- Time to complete
- About 10 minutes
- Test family
- Practical skill
- Included in
- All plans
What a candidate actually does
- Compare a purchase order against the matching invoice and list every mismatch
- Complete a form following instructions that include two deliberate traps
How it is scored
Discrepancies found minus false positives, so guessing does not pay. Instruction following is scored as a separate subscore.
Roles it suits
- Quality control
- Compliance assistant
- Proofreader
- Logistics coordinator
What it will not tell you
Performance drops with fatigue and time pressure, which is realistic but means a single sitting is a noisy estimate.
Every test has a boundary like this. A test used outside it stops predicting anything, which is the usual reason a hiring team loses faith in testing altogether.
Tests that pair with this one
Data entry assessment test
Accuracy transferring information between a source document and a structured form under mild time pressure.
Excel assessment test
Practical spreadsheet work at three levels: lookups across sheets, pivot tables, conditional logic and cleaning a messy sheet before anyone can use it.
English proficiency test
Reading comprehension, grammar and written expression at the level ordinary office work needs.
