Digit span test results and scoring guide

The score is the longest fully recalled sequence in the selected mode. A pass advances the span; two failures at a span stop the task. Forward and backward results are different conditions and should not be combined. Visual presentation, practice and device conditions affect performance. This is a practice game, not a clinical digit-span assessment.

Testing conditions

Choose forward or backward before starting. Digits appear for 800 ms with a 200 ms blank gap. Recall them only after the sequence ends. Start at three digits; one correct response advances the span. Two errors at the same span end the run. The ceiling is 12. Do not write the digits down. A hidden tab interrupts the run.

Make a useful comparison

Keep the mode, device and conditions consistent. Familiarity, distractions and practice affect results. Self-reported traits and interests describe your current answers; they do not establish your ability or suitability for a job. Game results describe this particular run and are not IQ or clinical scores.
